We hired Dedicated Developers to help us build and design both hardware GPS sensors used in the transportation industry as well as the web application and mobile apps to monitor the sensors. The sensors connect the transportation sector to the Internet of Things (IoT). It was challenging to find developers that had the complete package of skills we needed for this project. They did a lot of initial research and were able to suggest hardware components and sensors that would be the best configurations that would reduce the costs during mass production. They helped us figure out the best components that are reliable, durable and cost effective, so the total hard costs for each finished sensor goes down, and profits go up. They were able to bring the total cost of each unit down by 21%. They were creative while building the prototype sensors, which they were able to do quickly within a couple months. The software they created to run and monitor the sensors uses the latest cutting-edge technology, and connects our industry to the Internet of Things, which is fast, efficient, responsive and very well designed. The hardware sensors they created for us are top notch, and the monitoring software to run and monitor them has been very well received by our clients. There are so many design firms out there that it's hard to cut through the clutter. A Google search of ""website design San Francisco"" would yield too many results so I would need to rely on yelp or a personal reference, and even a personal reference would need to be vetted in some way. Smack Happy stood out on Yelp because it seems like there was a lot of positive feedback, but most important to me you seemed to be one of the only graphic design firms that worked on their own brand and image. Most other companies have a horrible webpage, and they seem to have worked on theirs as much as they would for your best client. For me, that really said that they cared about what you do. The old adage of ""The Cobbler's Children have no shoes"" seemed like a cop out for most of the other companies not to do well for themselves what they claim to do well for others. The other thing that stood out once I was on your website was their actual work you had done for other clients. The designs were bold, playful, and had touches of uniqueness that personalized every site that I saw. I was happy that every site didn't look like a recycled template that you had used and just plugged in info for every new client. Their work is really good and there were only a few companies at theirr level that do work as well as you. I actually got 2 other quotes after meeting with Nicole and both were similarly priced. During the shopping phase the communication with Nicole was easy, warm, and energetic. The meetings in her office were great and she is such a kind person who is really invested in the work that she does for each client and that's apparent. She is also ultra busy (from briefly glancing at her calendar) so I was interested to see what working with her team would be like. Becka, was great to work with and I loved that we had someone nudging us to get things done, but in a positive way (THANK YOU!) Danielle was great too, we were a bit concerned at first because it seemed like she didn't get how we wanted the copy to go, but I expressed that to Nicole and by the next meeting things were on track and the copy we received from that point on was great. As far as the design team is concerned, we worked with Marianne for a while who was great, but then my business partner took over as the lead on the project as we had an internal staffing change that took me away from being as active on the website. Working with the team overall, we were very happy, and I was happy to see that we also got a lot of that personalization at the end of the day in our website, however, I wish they would have pushed the small customized touches more and given us your artistic opinion more often. Sometimes, it felt like it was an inconvenience for us to push the customization agenda. All in all, your polished image as a company and all the time that Nicole spends engaging really gives them guys an active, eager, and willing attitude and the work speaks for itself. Smack Happy Designs rocked for us and I would recommend you guys in a second.

When I was with Cooper, White & Cooper in San Francisco, we hired Razorfrog in 2018 to redesign our web site after dissatisfaction with our prior web site developer. Our contact at Razorfrog from then to the present has been Max Elman. We chose Max and his team after considering a number of web site developers, interviewing Max and his team to discuss ideas, and looking over a number of sites that Razorfrog had created. Our IT Director at the time, now retired, also checked with her colleagues at businesses who had employed Razorfrog for their web sites. All the references were uniformly pleased with Razorfrog. One thing that distinguishes Razorfrog from other developers is that its sites do not all look the same. While we were evaluating web developers, we found that we could eventually identify the developer by the look and feel of the site quickly, before checking for an attribution as to who did the work. During the development process, we found Max and his team to be consistently attuned to our needs, willing to work within the budget we had for the project, adept at handling the transfer of our existing content to the new site, and completing the project on time and on budget. The administrative interface implemented by Razorfrog was far better than the one we had previously, and more comprehensive – we have had only rare occasions when we would need to have Razorfrog make content changes to our site, typically only when related in some way to its design. Since the initial implementation of our site, it has been maintained by Razorfrog. Max has made recommendations over the years as to improvements that might be made in terms of hosting and options to address how to implement notices required by statutory changes primarily driven by privacy laws. We can’t identify any problems we have had with the site since it was implemented that weren’t related to external problems such as failures in the nameserver provided by Network Solutions (which was changed to Cloudflare at Max’s suggestion). Such problems have always been dealt with in a professional and prompt manner. Even during the challenging times of the pandemic, Razorfrog continued to provide service without interruption. Such reliability during those turbulent years was welcome. Our web site was one less worry we had to consider as we evolved our systems to the new, more remote, environment. The attribute that makes us most satisfied about Razorfrog is Max’s willingness to jump in on short notice to address our web site needs. In 2022, we announced that our firm was joining a large international firm. Just a few days before the announcement, we contacted Max about including the announcement prominently on our web site on the morning the transaction was made public. Max came through with flying colors, implementing what needed to be done to accomplish what the marketing teams wanted on the morning the deal went public. Max continued to work with us through the implementation phase of this combination and our great confidence that this aspect of the integration will be well handled proved warranted.
