I had the pleasure of working closely with Karsten at Beauty Bay and watching him utilise his skills with great effect. Very much a teamplayer with an ability to show leadership skills through meticulous guidance of his team. Within the first week Karsten was asking questions and making suggestions that would later form part of the trading business strategy and make positive changes to the business. Karsten often engaged in cross functional work between key departments (brand, digital marketing, BI & the data team) that sped up efficiencies. Karsten used his ‘can-do attitude’ to immediately grow top line revenue for BB in key markets (US and Europe) while keeping profitability front of mind. Being able to quickly pinpoint where we were slipping on conversion allowed him to optimise conversion in key markets, thanks to the localised trading strategy Karsten played a major part in developing, as well as his country consumer insights. This gave us added ammunition when targeting key trading patterns we were missing out on. Growth secured in the US & key markets in the EU immediately saw the benefit with smooth execution Karsten and his team displayed. I hope to work with Karsten at some point in the future, until then, best of luck ‘Captain K’!
