While the company roots began in 2008 in Phoenix, Arizona, Imaginary Trout is now headquartered in Spokane, Washington - right in the heart of our beautiful pacific northwest. Imaginary Trout isn't just another design and dev shop. We work with a team of expert consultants and agencies that range from 3D content design and development to custom app development (including emerging technologies such as augmented reality and virtual reality activations) to video production and absolutely everything digital in between.
The company's founder has been developing websites and administering networks, bare metal servers (now cloud-based IaaS), and databases since the late '90s. We've witnessed and experienced unparalleled growth of technologies and platforms such as WordPress and have been pushing the limits of WordPress's capabilities for over ten years.
We know the best practices for search engine optimization and our clients benefit from this experienced knowledge. What differentiates us the most we believe, is simply experience. By way of example, we recently on-boarded a new client whose website was designed by one of the top agencies in Spokane. The WordPress website was recently overhauled (or so they claimed) and a local "SEO guy" was supposedly doing work. Sadly the "custom" WordPress theme was a hacked disaster and the local outfit performing SEO services had collected two months worth of fees and hadn't even performed elementary SEO basics including page title, page description, Google + Bing webmaster tools set up, and sitemap submissions. Our client was told, "we need a few months for our SEO work to soak in". Sad. SEO basics are built into every website build we do. In fact, if we take over hosting for a client, SEO is one of the first tasks we perform in addition to optimization. At the end of the day if our clients are successful, then we're successful. We've done our job and are happy to provide our services. That's our #1 goal.
