AD men is a full-service digital agency with a homegrown style.  AD men have offices in Austin and Salt Lake City.  Our firm was founded by brothers Cody & Shawn Baird in 2011.   Our Mission is to shine a light on local greatness, to build local brands that are impossible to ignore.   Our vision is to change the way local businesses attract and engage their customers and neighborhoods. The Beaumont Hotel, Tacodeli, Franklin BBQ, or the Driskill in Austin. We cringe to think of a world with Applebee's but no Franklin BBQ, Hyatt's but no Driskell Hotel. We love original local business. Locals love their hometown, neighbors, and do what is best for them. Our History; Part boredom, part hope, Cody Baird started buying/squatting on hundreds of domains around 2001. Three years later, became minority partner for a FOREX broker and clearing merchant.  As CMO he developed pay per click and display ad campaigns in the foreign exchange market from 2004 - 2009.  PPC and display ads were too expensive and caused Cody to start testing SEO theory from the outskirts of the web as soon as he saw the 1st PPC and display ad bills.  He purchased and deployed 500+ exact match domain microsites, dabbled with link pyramids, wheels, and lots of other effective/blackish techniques.  By 2009 he was generating 35 to 50 sales qualified trader/investor leads daily and spending $0 on PPC or display ads. In 2011, he founded AD men with his brother Shawn.  By 2011 SEO competition was fierce for national keywords in almost every vertical.  However, in 2008 Google was making obvious moves towards a more locally relevant index.  Google Maps and Places became the new wild west for SEO.  We saw another wave building. We knew that local intent = commercial intent. Or in other words, a local search on Google was going to soon become a nearby purchase.       Guided by old school principles, we help our clients execute new school marketing strategies.
