I came to Bill and his team at Seota Design with a huge problem…My site myselfdefensetraining.com which is basically my business…was MORE than sick. It was broken as a result of many, many developers over the last 6 years working on it. I’ve spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on developing and maintaining the platform…and it was wrecked. I couldn’t advertise, members would get lost —- it was a nightmare and it needed to be rebuilt. We met with dozens of developers…yes…dozens…and got quotes ranging from the absurd to the ridiculous. I inherited the Ave 25 relationship when I joined Nevoa Inc. as Marketing Director in April 2017. I have worked with and for agencies throughout my career. One of the biggest mistakes Marketing Directors, VPs, etc., make (in my opinion) is coming in to a new position and immediately firing the incumbent agency for another that they have worked with previously. My objective and responsibility in joining Nevoa was to create the branding, positioning, marketing, web presence, etc., for both the company and for a new, exciting product the company is launching. I had other agency relationships in mind to bring in to help with this work, and at the time Ave 25 had only been hosting the Nevoa website for a very low monthly fee. I asked to meet with them to learn more about their overall capabilities, and from that initial meeting I knew they were a unique, small group of incredibly talented, passionate branding/marketing professionals. They created a branding and positioning for both Nevoa Inc. and for the new product offering that were both integral to everything that came after that point. We knew our voice, our persona, how we want to sound and act with the multiple target audiences we identified. It was incredibly powerful and incredibly helpful to keep our (also small) team focused on how best to brand, market and position our company and our products. From there Ave 25 designed a new website, a tradeshow booth, retractable banners, and more. In addition to the great work we received, I received "something to think about" emails from the Creative Director multiple times on weekends or at night when he was thinking about our company and brand. To think about it is one thing; to take the time to send off a message to take it beyond that is unique in my experience. They are fair and transparent about how they charge for their services; every deliverable we have received has literally "wowed" us.

I hired Kobe to write content for, redesign, and redevelop our ecommerce website. Kobe provided one, initial meeting with a few people who I did not work with again. Work was begun on the project by the content writer, who began describing the design in his content, which was posted page by page on Monday.com, which does not have revision or reviewing functionality. Kobe refused to begin the project with (industry-standard) wireframes, which would have provided a simple understanding of the two types of pages and messaging placement to both my team and theirs. Kobe next provided designs, via pdfs in email (i.e. no easy reviewing capability), that looked like simple template websites with no brand feel, according to many laypersons and professional web designers (and me too of course). At this point, with less than half of the work done, I cancelled the project. Kobe unethically did not refund money for the half of the project that was unfinished.

Overall, I feel the customer service and support is top notch in that Cloud LGS doesn't leave you guessing, doesn't hold your website or work hostage, and offers full transparency. I've enjoyed working with the CEO, Jason Valasek, and his team because they are all very eager to help make my online presence better. They truly care about the success of my business and that shows in their consistent work ethic.

Hiring Anthonys Agency was the worst business decision I ever made. I hired Anthony Martinez / Anthonys Agency to create a new website with improved user experience and easier checkout. He charged more than I was expecting (5x what the last guy charged) but he talked a good game so I went with him. The website he delivered was harder to use than the original. Navigation was difficult. The search function returned multiple pages of irrelevant results. My own employees couldn’t find what they were looking for. How could I expect customers to? Website sales dropped and continued to drop until we were selling about 1/3 of our previous sales. Anthony told us it was due to incomplete descriptions, categories and tags. An employee and I spent 3 months trying to improve the descriptions, categories, tags, variations and SKU numbers. I think some of that should have been ported over from the old site by his team but we did it out of necessity. Finally, out of desperation, I restored the old website. It was that or start laying people off. Sales instantly rose 2.75x in $ amount (comparing the 7 days before to the 7 days after restoring the old site). Anthony refused to do anything to make the situation right, either by offering a refund or fixing the problem. His only suggestion was to have us pay him for SEO (Search Engine Optimization), which I declined. He screwed up the site and then he wanted me to pay him again to fix it. Between cost of site plus lost revenue, hiring Anthonys Agency was the most costly business mistake I have ever made. What I learned (that I probably should not have had to): 1.Buyer beware. Carefully vet web developers. Check reviews, references and examples of previous work. Make sure that they have experience with your type of site. A good sales presentation does NOT translate into a good developer. 2. Tie compensation to performance. From now on I will give 1/2 up front and the other 1/2 if there is a noticeable increase in sales in 2 months. 3. Don’t accept a product until it is truly finished and ready to go. My team should not be making the changes that I paid someone else to make. Anthony seems like a nice guy. It is unfortunate that he didn't work with us on a solution and I felt it necessary to leave a negative review.
