What makes us different

F12 has been creating technology solutions that simplify and streamline businesses for more than 20 years — which is how we know traditional models under-deliver on their promise.  We believe it is time to stop obsessing on ingredients and start delivering on outcomes. We accomplish this through an innovative approach to IT, a simple subscription that provides a comprehensive IT platform. 

F12 brings six missing elements to the world of small and medium enterprise IT: 

Accountability - Managed IT providers are often held accountable for items which they do not control. If the customer makes the wrong choice or no choice, then IT outcomes suffer. The F12 Infinite IT platform relieves the customer of this burden, resulting in a better relationship with IT, one with financially-backed SLAs.

Simplicity - IT discussions often involve complicated tech jargon. With limited time to devote to learn the nuances of different options, customers may make the wrong decision. F12 believes you shouldn't be faced with this risk because IT should provide a platform, not a product. 

Security - Today, IT security is often an optional upsell.  Security can no longer be an option. Like seatbelts, it should come standard.  That is why F12's IT platform includes all the components necessary to keep you secure. 

Flexiblity - Typical IT infrastructure is static, purchased and replaced on a three to five-year lifecycle.  Today's work environment is dynamic, and IT needs to be as well.  Therefore, F12 created an adaptable platform that spans on-premises, the public cloud, and the private cloud.  Further, it evolves and adapts to fit your changing needs.

Standards - No official body of standards exists in IT. Each provider is left to develop their own "best practices," and customers have to educate themselves to know if their IT provider is making wise suggestions.  F12 endorses and implements standards based on the CIS Controls and the CyberSecure Canada framework to combat this wild-west mentality.  

Oversight - Unlike other professional services, IT has no governing body, college, or admission standards.  There is no ticket, accreditation, or universal code of ethics. Bad actors are allowed to persist.  That is why F12 embraces external accountability through annual SOC II Type 2 auditing by a certified external organization.

Overall Experience

Overall I would say that we are generally satisfied with our service with F12. There are certain tickets that are opened and dealt with efficiently and thoroughly. However, there are also several occasions where we have opened tickets that have not been dealt with in a timely manner or that are not resolved in a manner that is acceptable to our business operations.

Hockey Alberta is into its fifth year with F12 as our IT Support partner. During our time working with F12, we have transformed how we utilize technology, and our business processes involving technology. Starting with computers, we made the switch from owning our devices to utilizing F12's leasing program. F12's service program where they replace a computer that is not working properly (and the troubleshoot it on their time) has proved immensely valuable in ensuring that our staff members have working devices and can do their jobs - and this even includes when an issue arises for staff in more distant areas of our province. A key part of our partnership was the need for our organization to better utilize cloud storage options, but to merge those requirements with the need to have some on-premises server presence. We had a number of previous storage solutions that needed to be dealt with, and F12 created a solution that worked for us both at our Red Deer office, and for staff based in other locations. And then, when we outgrew the original solution, we worked together to figure out a new solution. All of this meant that when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March 2020, and we made the immediate transition to working remotely, Hockey Alberta had pretty much everything in place to make that a seamless transition. We needed to get a couple of VPN connections installed, but our business operations were able to carry on largely uninterrupted. As always, when technology is involved, issues arise - but when that happens, we are able to figure out a solution that works for the unique structure of our organization. And, the support desk has not blocked my incoming emails or phone calls, so that's always a good sign!!

Overall Experience

I have used f12 in their earlier years and with a company in 3 locations with 120 employees and have stayed as my IT supplier as I have transfer the company to being a landlord and taking on new businesses. I would always recommend them!

We have been with F12 for 7 years now and the level of service and commitment is still the same as it was in the first year. F12 has a great team of IT professionals and they surely know what they are doing.

Overall Experience

We were extremely pleased with our 18 month relationship with F12.net as a supplier. We are a consultancy specializing in family enterprise, and were looking for a Canadian data center to host our Canadian family offices for a private web portal service we provided with a US vendor. Hosting outside of the US was -and is - very important to our international and Canadian clients. F12 was willing to take a risk with us and customized service pricing for us. Their technical team was experiences, professional, and very genial to work with. Finley & Associates recommends F12.net highly.
