As a highly active and long-standing UpCity client, we are excited to present this week’s business, Metro Shelving Products!
MetroShelvingProducts.com is a commercial e-commerce company based in Long Beach, California. The business focuses on providing commercial storage solutions to a variety of industry sectors, such as food service, healthcare and retail.
Metro Shelving Products has factory locations in California, and Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. Product Specialists offer complete product knowledge and timely assistance to customers. With their robust catalogue of products available online, clients can find everything they need for their professional storage needs all in one place!
Now, without further ado, let’s get right into Metro Shelving’s website and take note of the key pieces that perform well.
Metro Shelving Products Positive Marks
1. The social media links are prominently displayed.
The social media links on Metro Shelving’s homepage are easily navigable. The social media button shows below allow customers to connect outside of the main e-commerce site. In addition, they encourage customers to communicate their experiences through positive comments and support of the company. It is great to see that the business regularly update all three of their platforms (Twitter, Facebook, and Google Plus).
2. The company blog is up-to-date.
No matter how highly ranked a website becomes, search engine experiments consistently show that new content brings in search traffic. Keeping your blog current and filling it with insightful and quality content ensures that your website will continue to earn a steady stream of visitors and rank higher over time. This blog is filled with interesting topics, product features, useful news related to the industry, and the hard work shows!
3. High levels of authority.
Metro Shelving Products definitely masters its Trust Metrics. In its SEO Report Card (now available in the Reports section of all UpCity member accounts), we can see the measurements of an optimal domain authority and domain age. All sites are calculated with a different level of search trust depending on their influence. These high levels of authority bring stronger search traffic and factor into the site’s rankings against competitors.
In general, Metro Shelving Products is performing well with its SEO, and it scored a 94 out of 100 in our SEO Report Card last week!
Quick Wins for Metro Shelving Products
1. Add a newsletter to your blog.
Metro Shelving publishes relevant and unique content on its blog. Now, we recommend the business takes a step further and creates a newsletter for the blog. This way, the website is not receiving traffic and hoping it converts. A newsletter, especially for these product-focused blog posts, helps solidify contact with potential customers. In addition, it will take only a few more minutes to create a newsletter if the content already exists on the blog. Time will not be wasted.
Don’t let qualified leads get away so easily! For more information, read our post that provides step-by-step instructions on setting up an email newsletter.
2. Perform social outreach to increase engagement.
We looked across all of Metro Shelving’s social media channels, and one significant item missing is a lack of engagement with consumers.
A general rule in social media for businesses is to communicate with other customers. Pumping out content, while valuable, will not be sufficient enough to generate traffic and revenue. In this case, our advice is to not stop after promoting your content in these channels. Instead, try reaching out and talking to other influencers in your industry. Join forums and participate in industry communities if you want to go a step further. Social media is not a one-way street (YOU only promoting your content to THEM); communication needs to go both ways to be effective.
3. Add a company link to your Google Plus page.
While including a Google Plus bookmark is a small fix, it can only help direct visitors back to your main site. As it stands now, there is no pathway to the e-commerce site. Add the link in 3o seconds, and you will see traffic increase in your Google Analytics.
Feel free to focus on only one of these wins and see where it takes you after chipping away at them. Are there any changes in traffic or customer reception? Let us know!
