Each Monday morning, I like to do a quick check of results for some of our targeted keywords. I simply type the phrase into the Google search bar and see what comes up.

It’s no surprise that we target ‘do it yourself seo’ — happy to see we’ve got page 1 SERP! But the next step for me is to look at ‘related searches’ listed at the bottom of the page:

 

 

 

 

 

How does this help?

It allows me to see popular variations of my targeted keyword. I can simply click on the ‘related searches’ links to see how I rank for those, I’m often surprised by the results. The other advantage is that I can quickly view competitors (or those that the engines think are competitors) in my space.
