Background on Google Plus for Business

Businesses and organizations are able to create pages in the Google+ network. This is a very important way to increase your presence online and improve your overall visibility. Much like other popular social networks like Twitter and Facebook, creating a Google+ page for your business enables you to connect and share with colleagues, customers and prospective customers.

While Google+ does not have the traction that Facebook and Twitter have from a number of users standpoint, Google is relying strongly on Google+ information to help determine which businesses are relevant and can significantly influence search results for your website. In other words, if Google thinks it is important, so should you!

Google+ information shows up in search results on This can include recent posts, local information, photos, videos, and much more. By using Google+ you can get found across Google, right when your customers are most interested.

How To Create a Google Plus Business Page

Follow these steps to create a robust Google+ listing:

  • Go to the Create a Google+ Page link to get started.

  • You should select Storefront, Service Area, or Brand.

  • Be sure provide a link to your website.

  • Enter in your tagline and upload a small logo or photo for your business. You may have to adjust the size of the logo to meet Google’s size requirements.

  • Be sure to include as much content as you can on the business page. We’d recommend starting to add the basic information about your business, and then go back to enter in more details.

  • In addition, the information (address, phone, keywords, recommended links, categories, etc.) that you post should be exactly the same as what is shown on your website.
