Influencer content is also available on the platform for you to share, like, and discuss among your peers. Furthermore, you can read information on potential leads and businesses partners.

The best way to get started is to look for colleagues and clients on LinkedIn. Send a connection request. and then follow their updates and join groups where they belong. Note that adding a personal comment to a group or individual’s page is often a better approach when asking for a connection.

How to Find Top Influencers on LinkedIn

Step 1. Start at

Step 2. Go to “Interests.” In the dropdown menu, click on “Pulse.” Pulse is a subsidiary of LinkedIn to consolidates top content from LinkedIn influencers.

Step 3. Once you’re in Pulse, click on “All Influencers.”

Step 4. Once you’re in the “Influencers” section, you have the option to chose from a variety of notable industry experts. If you would like to search for specific influencers, type in their full name in the search bar at the top of page.

Step 5. When you find a desirable influencer, click the “Follow” button that can either be next to their headshots, or directly on the images itself.

Import Email Connections

Use the Add Connections to see if anyone in your email contacts are on LinkedIn.

Step 1. Go to “Network” and click “Add Connections.”

Step 2. Insert your Email Address of choice, and import contacts from your address book. Once complete, hit “Continue.”

Step 3. LinkedIn will ask for authorization; allow it. Once you reach the next screen, hit “Add Connections.”

Adding Alumni to Your Network

Use the Alumni section to find people who attended the same schools and universities as you.

Step 1. If you have one or more colleges listed on your LinkedIn page, you can click on “Find Alumni” in the dropdown menu under the “Network” tab. This way, you can utilize educational connections to foster new business.

Step 2. Browse through alumni and click “Connect” to network with other colleagues you haven’t met yet!
