We’re sure you’ve gotten your Google+ Local listing up and running. Great work! But is it filled to completion?

Filling in your Google+ Local listing completely is a very important step you should take into account because it helps in two main ways:

  • This helps Google learn more about your business, which will result in additional trust assigned to your listing, which in turn would mean that Google will be more likely to display it in local search results.
  • This also helps potential customers to learn more about your business, so the chances for your customers to call you or to visit your location would increase significantly.

In this quick guide, we’ll fill you in on what you should fill out to get the most benefit from your local profile.

How To Complete Your Google+ Local Profile

Step 1. Start at your Google+ Local page.

Step 2. Click ‘About’ and search for and click ‘Edit business information.’

Step 3. Add a description for your business that provides more details about who you are and what products and services you offer. However, do not stuff your description with keywords as they will only affect your listing’s performance negatively and will not be helpful for the regular user.

Step 4. Add your website, business email, working hours, payment methods, and other additional details for your business (such as parking availability, languages spoken, associations participation, for example).

Step 5. Add up to 10 photos and up to 5 videos for your business. The first photo you add will show up in the search results on Google Maps and Google+, so make sure you choose this photo particularly wisely. It is best if the photo represents a sample of your product/service, yourself, or your team. Avoid adding your business logo as the first picture for your listing.
