Question One: My husband’s personal information is appearing next to the Google Map listing for our contractor company. How do we correct this as soon as possible?

Our Response: There are two quick ways to correct the listing. The first option is to edit the information yourself in your Google Places account if you already own a verified listing.

The second option is to report your Google Maps listing to Google. With this method, Google can delete your husband’s personal association to the listing. Here are the three steps to follow:

  1. Click “Report a problem” at the bottom of your Google Map.
  2. Click “Problem related to…”
  3. Fill in the information and then submit it to Google.

Question Two: Why am I now seeing images in my Twitter, and I don’t have to click to see images like before? Is this something my blog should be taking advantage of?

Our Response: Twitter recently updated its in-stream display feature, allowing photo previews and Vine videos to be shown in Twitter feeds and timelines. This update is a brilliant strategy for Twitter handles to display advertisements, content, and relevant images. Websites can effectively use these images to gain more engagement and traffic.

It will take some testing, but it’s worth it to try out. We encourage all businesses to learn more and experiment with this exciting and new Twitter feature!

Question Three: Are meta descriptions important to use? I’m getting conflicting info online and thought you guys would probably know this. Thank you!

Our Response: Although meta descriptions have little impact on your search engine ranking, they influence how a person will click on the your listing in the SERP, and they also provide a brief description of your page in the SERP. We recently wrote an in-depth blog post about meta descriptions – learn more about the topic here.
