Question One: I would like to create better content for my plumbing website, but I don’t have any extra money to spend this year. how can my team put together some text for the site but not put a lot more budget toward it?

Our Response: We understand your concern here and want you to know that creating quality content can still be completed without spending an extra cent! All it takes is planning, time, and a little effort. Here are some quick ideas to begin right now and get you on the right check this year for content marketing success without having to spend extra money:

  • Blogs are essential to drive traffic to your site. Start a blog, and publish blog posts on a regular basis. Try one of these CMS tools to begin your blog (if you have not already).
  • Take time to put together an editorial calendar for your business. Work together as a team to divide up who will write out which articles or content for the site.
  • Send out a monthly newsletter on behalf of your business. Follow these steps to setting up a simple newsletter.
  • Create an About Us page on your website, which encourages credibility and familiarizes customers with your business.
  • Establish a presence for your business  on social media. Be sure to create social media profiles on Facebook, Google Plus, and  Twitter. Add comments, listen to your customers, and advertise exclusive promotions! In addition, you can post your blog posts to these social networks. All of these ideas do not require additional funding.
  • Try guest blogging on plumbing websites and sites with similar audiences. Follow these bullet points for some tips to set up these opportunities.

Question Two: Could you provide some more background on the big news that occurred with Pinterest and VisualGraph last week?

Pinterest and VisualGraph ScreenshotOur Response: Last week, Pinterest announced it acquired VisualGraph, an image search tool. Startup VisualGraph focuses on image connection and recognition. Pinterest’s search recommendations and technology will be boosted by this smart acquisition.

We look forward to seeing how this partnership will help their efforts for small businesses, advertisements, as well as how it will set them apart from other social networks.
