Question One: Can you give us some insight into Amazon Home Services?

Our Response: Amazon Home Services is Amazon’s latest offering. It benefits small businesses offering in-home services to clients.

How is this relevant to your business? The key here is the guarantee of a quality listing.

Amazon Home Services has spent more than 123,000 hours doing background checks for these businesses. This means that customers who end up using AHS is guaranteed to only work with the best companies out of the 700 verticals they choose.

This makes AHS a supreme competitor against the Yelp and Google My Business listing services. Whereas it’s easy for anyone to create a listing or page within these two networks, the high quality guarantee from AHS makes it a much more compelling platform.

Only time will tell how this will affect your traffic (will a GMB listing do better in search engines than a listing in AHS?) and we’ll be here with the latest developments on this subject.

Question Two: The mobile update is a little less than a month away. Is there anything else we should know about that Google hasn’t told us already?

Our Response: If you don’t already know, Google has reached out to the community and compiled a smart guide that addresses concerns webmasters have about mobile content.

Here are some examples of issues you should address on your site before the update:

  • Unplayable media: make sure video content on your site is playable for mobile devices.
  • Faulty redirect links: make sure you use appropriate mobile URL redirects for desktop users.
  • Increase your site speed: make sure your page runs efficiently on mobile devices.
