Question One: Even though I have great content ideas, they never seem to gain traction from a mass audience. How do I stimulate conversation around my content?
Our Response: First, read more from a vast variety of topics. Second, create controversy or drama with your posts.
That’s not to say that you should create unnecessary unrest, but the most important thing you can do is take a stance.
Your audience will appreciate you more for having the conviction to have an opinion. However, don’t feel like you have to be contrarian or negative in your point of view. As long as you link accurate support in making your claims, you’re guaranteed to have a dedicated following that enjoys your content.
Lastly, get better at writing. Write everyday, even if you don’t have to. Or pay for a better writer.
Question Two: Should I take the leap and update my site for mobile devices?
Our Response: You’ll have to do some research and evaluate this based on how your customers purchases your products and services, as well as what your competitors plan to do.
Google has stated that non-mobile websites won’t be negatively affected by the coming search update, but that seems unlikely given the fact that mobile-friendly sites will be given a boost.
As a matter of fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if UpCity was going through a few structural changes for the site in the coming months (hint).
