Question One: Is mobile optimization really that important to my website?
Our Response: Not only does mobile optimization affect how visitors navigate your website, but it also affects your position within search engines. Recently, Google has been sending out warnings to webmasters whose sites are not mobile-friendly. If left unchecked, these sites can be ranked much lower in search engines.
We advise all users to really consider the implications this has on both your site and the consumer experience. Users spend a lot more time on their smartphones, so optimizing for mobile performance is in your best interest to provide.
Question Two: What is the threat of Google Knowledge Graph to webmasters?
Our Response: For those who don’t know, Google Knowledge Graph is a mechanism within the search engine that provides an answer to consumer searches. This is great for users who want knowledge quickly, but harmful to the webmasters who provide those answers.
The Knowledge Graph effectively removes any incentive for visitors to click through to their websites for the intended search. Only time will tell to see how Google maintains this feature in light of webmaster concerns.
