Question One: How do I verify my Google local listing by postcard? Is there a difference between verification by phone and postcard?

Our Response: Business owners can submit their listings to Google and verify via three options: phone, postcard, and SMS. Of course, postcard verification will take the longest amount of time. Google provides a different choice to verify your business depending on address or phone availability. For example, the specific location may not match the identified listing or five phone numbers may already match with the same address. Question Two: I am an orthodontist practicing in separate locations. Should I create separate listings? Will they be considered duplicate listings, and will I be penalized?

Our Response: This is a great question! If your business has separate locations and identities, you should go ahead and submit different listings for each location. You can submit these listings as long as the locations are distinct from one another. A duplicate listing will exist when you have two versions of listings under the same location. The directories may vary in dealing with locations, so you may want to review each one specifically on their own, especially the older and smaller directories. Popular local directories such as Bing, Google, and Yelp are often updating to reflect multi-location business listings.
