Question 1: I want to add new keywords to my homepage title tag every five months as a test. How often do you suggest updating them?

Our Response: First, we want to point out that if your keywords perform well, there is less of a need to change your keywords every five months. When switching the keywords, you will need to reset your SEO efforts. In addition, it takes time for keyword phrases to perform. If you do feel there is a need to change out keywords to improve performance, we recommend carefully selecting high quality keywords with good search volume and low competition. Then, insert them into your website, and make sure to periodically review your keyword reporting before changing them out. Monitoring keywords for five months seems relatively stable as a test, but we recommend not setting a specific time period in stone.

Giving the keyword list a genuine chance to gauge performance relies on the completion of optimal SEO efforts. Results do not happen right away for every website. Therefore, try to be patient after selecting your keywords. Various factors affect how fast keywords will perform, such as competition, number of clicks, location, personalization, seasonality, and traffic. Tracking the success of your keywords on a routine basis is a smart way to make sure you are seeing the improvements you hope for. It is quite normal for rankings to move up and down. If the keyword list is not performing well over a large period of time and you’ve paid close attention to the components listed above, it’s okay to make those changes and test out some other keywords.

Question 2: Where are the most important places to find keywords listed on my site?

Our Response: For a powerful SEO technique, it is essential to place your targeted keywords in areas that will get checked by the search engine crawlers.  Answers can vary, but we’ve compiled a list of top three recommended components on a webpage that need inserted keywords. These three components together will help build a better optimized website for your business. We recommend creating eye-catching and quality content for each of these SEO aspects on your site, and most should be unique from one another.

  1. Title Tag: Explains the topic of the webpage or website to users and search engines.
  2. Meta Description: Provides information about the webpage and is displayed on the search engine results page (SERP).
  3. H1 Tag: Describes the structure of a page and often helps to understand the page content.

Question 3: I need help with my dropped ranking! My top keyword went from a top ten ranking to to 100+. Any insight?
