Question 1: Tell me about Google’s new Keyword Planner. Is it different than the old one?

Our Response: Last week, Google announced the release of its new Keyword Planner. Replacing Google’s former Keyword Tool, users are required to have an AdWords account to access the Planner. Of course, debates began as soon as the Keyword Planner launched as to whether people find it favorable.

We find the software more focused and easy to utilize for ad impressions. The service is still useful for SEO, but it will take some time to get used to.

Stay tuned for futures updates on Google’s new AdWords Keyword Planner. For our UpCity members, don’t forget to utilize the new and improved keyword targeting tool in your account!

Question 2: My website is displayed on another website. How do I request them to remove my business because I don’t want it to affect our rankings?

Our Response: You have a few options here. Overall, requesting the webmaster or website to remove a suspicious link is always a good idea.  Make sure you specifically note where the link is found on the site to make the removal as easy as possible. Overall, chances are if this is your only low quality link out there, you should not have to worry too much about  lowered rankings. If you have completed much energy and time to clean up your negative links and still are not able to take them down, as a final resort you may want to consider the Google URL removal request tool.

Question 3: I’ve heard more about in-depth articles lately. What’s the point in writing them?

Our Response: Recently, Google launched a new way to search for in-depth articles. This update widely encourages websites to think seriously about writing more high quality, insightful content, which will help to increase search rankings. Read more about Google’s in-depth articles here.
