Question 1: Can you tell me more about Vimeo?
Our Response: Founded by a group of film makers, Vimeo is a free user-generated, video-sharing platform. The network encourages its growing and passionate user community to find, share, and upload quality video content. Fun features such as detailed enhancement and customization, tight-knit community groups, mobile applications, staff picks, and more set Vimeo apart from other video sources.
One of Vimeo’s most helpful and powerful components is its Video School, which we find very useful for video beginners. Embedding and sharing quality clips for your website can seem scary, but Vimeo’s helpful curriculum and tips walk you through the process one step at a time.
In addition, Vimeo sells video hosting software at a low monthly rate. Businesses are encouraged to use Vimeo PRO‘s open platform to host their personalized marketing content. Question 2: How does one get more real estate around meta descriptions on Google’s search engine results page? A competitor business of my website takes up a large amount of space on the results page.
Our Response: Although the meta description doesn’t have as much impact on its specific ranking on the search engine results page (SERP) as other factors, it does influence if a person will click on the listing in the SERP and visit your site. Differentiating your website from competitors is key in the long list of results that people browse through. One item to contemplate is the CMS you are using to manage your website. If you are utilizing WordPress for example, we’d recommend making sure that each individual web page has a unique quality and well written meta description assigned to it. Utilizing WordPress plugins, such as the All in One SEO Pack or WordPress SEO Plugin by Yoast, will allow you to easily make automated changes to your website pages. However, it’s important to avoid duplicate content and to optimize the pages with their own descriptions. A plugin will help you to not make any unnecessary changes to the content that is already live on the page(s). It’s also important to write high quality, rich descriptions. Include your keyword(s) and strong call-to-action word choices because it’s what people view in the search results. Sites are less likely to generate clicks when the snippets are not fully optimized for SEO.
