Many entrepreneurs know that PPC (aka CPC, cost per click, pay per click, etc.) is a cost-effective marketing channel. But did you know that SEO is an even more profitable direct marketing channel than is PPC? We hope the infographic below will help you to recognize some significant benefits of using SEO compared to pay per click advertising. (By the way, when we originally published this article, our company was named DIYSEO; we have now re-launched as UpCity.)

I don’t know. The free analysis was full of things I know not to be true, like sitemaps, being indexed etc. I would like to think its an honest error and not just a trick to get me worried.

Now this is a great graphic. I particularly like the stat in the lower right corner about the percentage of seo campaigns that acheive over 500% ROI. I would hope that if an seo company did not acheive at least a 200% ROI for their client during the first year that they would refund some percentage of their fees. In addition to word of mouth referrals from clients, my websites and personal business networking events are what drives new client aquisition. There are so many things you can do to market a business, but your website if properly optimized for search and for conversion, should bring in the business. If it doesn’t, then it needs to be examined for what changes it needs.

Excellent graphic, I am very surprised at some of the stats, I think that what you click on is determined by what you are searching for, If I am searching for info or research material I tend to click on Organic results but if I am looking to purchase I tend to click on PPC.

It would depend what sort of business you run. PPC would suit a ‘service’ business well as they would make instant sales to what might become monthly paying clients so a good ROI. Hoever a ‘product selling’ business might not get so much repeat business so SEO would provide better ROI

Amazing figures. You can see that by combinding both PPC & a well placed organic you should be nicely covered on both consumers that use sponsored ads and those that only click on the organic listings. Nicely done!
